August

So now that the month is almost over I guess I’ll try and get August’s blog done. It’s getting harder for me to get these done because LuLaRoe is really a 2nd job. So let’s see what I can remember that we did.

We’ve had a few good storms but nothing amazing. It is fun when they’re rolling in as we drive home.

I had ordered Stephanie’s birthday present in July and I was able to go pick it up. I have wanted to go to this store forever but their hours are funky. I didn’t get even close to enough time there and I want all the signs. I bought one for myself too and I LOVE it.

This is random but it’s one of the most amazing things ever. It really works and I like to call and listen to Rich Girl.

So Erica asked if we would watch Sophie one Saturday so they could try and get their new house painted. Not going to lie I was a little nervous. I find having one child difficult enough that adding a 2nd scares me. However, we had so much fun!! She and JJ were so good together. We took them to the Children’s museum. They didn’t play together much there but I think they both had such a good time! I don’t know what JJ’s deal was that he kept climbing into small areas and just sitting there. Sophie climbed into the bin and thought it was great.

We spent a lot of time at this wall. JJ planted himself in the corner and would probably stay for hours. We eventually migrated into the ‘grocery store’ and they had fun scooping rice in to the scale.

After the museum we took them to mcdonalds for a quick easy lunch. Again, they were so funny. They were waving to the people behind us and jumping. They both ate really well. I was feeling pretty proud of us at this point.

We headed home and tried for nap time. Sophie went down really easy but no luck with JJ. So he stayed up while she napped and we hoped for the best. We went to take Sophie home about 5 and when we got there realized that her mom and dad needed more time so we took her again which I was totally fine with. They were truly being so good and so fun. So we ran an errand and then went home. We had a picnic in the living room for dinner with hot dog and mac n cheese. Then I gave them both a bath and had her ready to go when her Grandma Annette picked her up. Seriously such a fun day.

I think it was the next day I can’t remember where we’d been or what led up to it but I caught this guy on the wall. Yep, that’s a scorpion. We’ve never found them on the walls like this before. So that sucks. I think it bothers me more now that we’ve caught them up there.

We have to keep busy at work and try to make it fun. So we spend a lot of time with snap chat filters. I couldn’t help but save this one.

One day we were sitting here and it just started getting really dark. I looked to the other side of the building and there was this giant, dark dust cloud rolling in. it’s fun to watch those come in.

And another snap chat winner. LOL

We tried to take JJ to the dentist just to get the feel for it. So one night after I picked him up we ran to the book store and then met John at the dentist. That didn’t go over very well. JJ and I left and met up with Stephanie for dinner at Cheddars and John joined us when he was done. JJ did pretty dang good.

And then the flood. I came home from work one day to this:

It's such a funny thing to sit there and be absolutely stunned and unsure of where all this water came from. There had been a huge rain storm that morning and our roof leaked and caused all this. Well sitting on that wood for almost 12 hours..... yep ruined. This was a picture our next door neighbor took of one of the streets in our neighborhood. Crazy.

This was the next morning when the floors had started to warp. This happened on a Thursday and Friday we were supposed to be up at the resort for John's work party. It was not easy tracking down insurance and getting a restoration company there before leaving etc. Of course this happened just 3 months after we'd finally finished the counters and new paint in the kitchen.

Yep, floors all came up and walls came down.

I don't remember when or what this was but it's cute.
They had to tear out like 2 walls and the wainscoting and floors and set out huge fans for like 4 days.

We did finally make it to the resort. We had a casita which was nice. This lounger was up on the loft and JJ thought it made a great slide.
He also enjoyed playing with the safe in the closet. It was a good weekend and I'm glad we weren't at home.

Yep the ceiling in the garage came down too. Oh... and we have those wood floors through the WHOLE house so.... we weren't sure if they were going to be able to match them, or if the insurance would cover full replacement, etc.
I had planned to go to the LuLaRoe Inspire tour that was in Phoenix. It was such a great day. I got to meet a lot of the girls on the team that I hadn't met before. We got to listen to some great speakers go over some really good techniques and just inspire us in general.
 That's Deanne. She's pretty amazing.
It was nice we were all able to grab tickets to lunch with Deanne. Saved us having to go somewhere and it was yummy.

So that lady in the red vest.... she's pretty amazing and she accomplished so much in a short time with LuLaRoe. I really connected with her attitude and personality.
This is Lindsay Wheeler. She is sort of LuLaRoe royalty. She super sweet and gorgeous. She does amazingly well in her business and it's cool to have met her.
This company is so awesome. They gave us all Monroe's before we left. So free conference and then free clothes?! I'm not going to lie it was shortly after this that something clicked for me and I feel like I really started to work it after this. I think it went from a hobby thing to real for me.

I even got Dawn wearing LuLaRoe to work. This is my version of a hug. I'm not a hugger.
 Another picture with this goof.
This was at breakfast one day. I don't remember why we went. I mean it's only been 4 months that I'm behind on writing these!

This picture is so funny of Edward. Just one of the places I find him at night.

One of my open houses. I haven't done one recently but they are definitely back on the schedule soon!
I did a cleanse thing... I'm not going to say I did great, but I did it. And I didn't hate it.

We tried to take JJ to a movie. Didn't make it. Again.

I'm sure there is more that happened but I really don't recall much else and these are the only pictures I'd planned on using so.....it's what you get! Maybe I will get caught up on these after all!
