Random

At some point we took the kids to a free trapeze show. They have a school near us and I work with someone who takes classes. It was pretty fun, but cold.... and we were HUNGRY!

After 3 weeks in the shop I finally got my car back and as I was driving it home it started smoking. Now the brakes were bad! So… we got rid of it. It was time. The miles were high and stuff was starting to break.

Home

The very first part of March I went home. This trip was planned before the impromptu trip in January.
It was cold, it snowed, and it was fun. I spent most of the first day helping Grandma Connie make tamales. I don't know that I could do it, but I have a better idea of what it entails....
We also went to the movies and got pedicures before heading back to Grandma's to eat the tamales!
I spent one morning alone working on homework and reading. I got really into the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo while I was there and I ended up loving that series. Dad took me to lunch and then over to Aberdeen where I hung out with Grandma and Grandpa for a while. That was fun. Grandma kept trying to feed Grandpa food he didn't want just so she could get rid of it. Poor Grandpa. I found out that Grandma fed Chris rancid peanut butter. That night I went to Bingo with Kim and Beanie. We had a good time but didn't win. Saturday we went to the ISU women's basketball game and then to dinner and Lava.

That was about it for the trip home!

February

Ok, let's see if I can do this. February. It's a short month and that's a good thing because I don't really remember much of it....

The 2nd was John and I's 10 year anniversary. It was on a Thursday so we didn't really do anything. I got a beautiful bouquet of flowers at work. Then that night we went and upgraded our phones!! Finally iPhones!!

I had to go look at my bank account to try and figure out what happened. I think on the 4th Stephanie and I must have gone and done painting because I remember after that we went to Scottsdale Fashion and then met the boys at Lucille's.

A few weeks later I feel like Stephanie and I had been at the movies and then were wandering through Chandler Fashion and found the rest of my anniversary present. I really like it! John came down to look at the rings and then we all went to the Old Spaghetti Factory.

Around the 17th or so of the month some girl backed into my car at work. I was going to pick Nick up and she backed into me. So I spent some time President's day getting the car appraised by her insurance and the body shop as well as a little shopping with Stephanie! I remember we had a lovely picnic at Joe's Farm Grill that afternoon with chocolate shakes!

Looks like on the 26th we went to Lo Lo's! Chicken and waffles! So that means that day we were up in Fountain Hills at the art's festival. We have a good time going to those and they keep up entertained generally for pretty cheap.

That pretty much sums up February!

Let's rebuild

Ok, so my last typed post was really 12/31. So I obviously had my 30th birthday and party. We went to City Hall in Scottsdale. It was John, Jim, Chris, Joe, Heidi, Bart, Stephanie, Nick, Bryan, and Beth. It was a lot of fun and I'm glad everyone went. Before we went, Stephanie and I decided to go get done up! It was a lot of fun and I thought as awkward as it felt that we looked good!

Then shortly after I know Lisa and I went to South Pacific at Gammage. That was the same day my mom got here. The show was good and for not being at all familiar with it; I enjoyed it.

Mom was here for just over a week and my dad came on Thursday. We didn't do anything. Basically ran errands. The Tuesday we did go to Golden Corral for Ashton's 8th birthday. Don't ask, it was his choice. Saturday was his baptism. It was really nice and with Nick doing the baptism and my dad the confirmation. We ate at Nick and Shar's afterwards.

I think it was a week later that we did the Color Run. Nick, Bart, Stephanie, John, and I all ran it. It wasn't so much a run, but it was a ton of fun. It was a 5K and at ever K they threw color at you. Then at the end they do a big color throw. We had a blast and can't wait to do it again.

Because of my grandpa's heart surgery on my birthday and the subsequent issues Nick and I made a quick decision to go home. We literally came home from the run and breakfast and showered and left. We got to Salt Lake at like 4 and rented a car and drove home. No one but Chad knew we were coming. We surprised them all at Cafe Rio and then went up to see Grandpa.

We got a surprise when on Sunday they released Grandpa from the hospital. So we went to Aberdeen that evening to help get him set up. That was one awesome night. We sat around visiting with everyone and got Grandma to make waffles... it was awesome. There were LOTS of people staying at my moms, but it worked out great and was good to see everyone and Grandpa. We even got out to Grandma Connie's and got to see Jaden and AshLynn.

That pretty much covers the month of January. I'll have to work on February to now on another day.
