July

As I was prepping this post I was surprised to find I didn't have a ton of photos. I also went back through my bank statement to see what we did/spent money on and there wasn't a lot!

Of course the month started off with the 4th. We were invited over to Aunt Stephanie's house for a BBQ and pool time and we knew we couldn't go over without a cute 4th of July outfit. We found a good one at Target and once we put the cutest kid ever in it; it was perfect.

We had to stop at Target to get a few things before going over and JJ found a new friend but can't figure out what is on his eyes. He also can't figure out what is on my eyes when I wear my glasses which results in a lot of swipes at my glasses and hitting mom. Yep, 10 months old and we've already gotten the report card from daycare that he was hitting. Oh boy.....

So I had JJ in swim lessons but we pulled him out. I saw the benefit in the repetition with him, but it was a lot of work and time to get him there, changed, etc. between his morning nap. I think he'll benefit from it more when he's a little older and I know the routine if I took him to a pool to walk him through it. He was really tired at Stephanie's so he wasn't loving the pool. We weren't lucky enough to get him to take a nap so he was really super tired. It's actually one of the only times he's fallen asleep in the car and we've been able to get him out of the car without waking up. I was sure he was going to wake up with all the fireworks, but nope!

He found their dog door also. He found theirs before ours as theirs is a little lower to the ground.

One of the Sunday dinners at Zinburger. For the most part when we go out to dinner JJ is pretty good. He likes to have some snacks to chew on and as long as we take food for him it usually goes ok.

This is going to be a really easy post because there truly isn't much to write about. I took this picture one morning on my run. It was so interesting the way the light was shining and that is looking to the West whereas most the time the gorgeous morning views are to the East.

We've gone from army crawl to standing in the blink of an eye. I don't remember when this started but he really went from no interest in standing to standing everywhere. I don't think he's ever going to crawl. I think we'll go from army crawl to walking.

What other updates has Bug had in the past month.... Right after his 9 month dr appointment we seemed to have gone from a 5 am wake up to 530-545. I still don't trust this as a permanent thing, but I'm enjoying it. We've even been lucky enough for one or two 615 wake ups. I've been trying to give Bug some different foods to try but for the most part he just gags on them. We took him out of his baby car seat. I miss being able to carry him in when he's asleep but it was getting really heavy to carry and I was banging his feet into the doors and walls. I know we weren't supposed to but we put him forward facing. It's not my fault. John put it in forwards to try it out and never moved it back. JJ's favorite thing right now is his walker. I got it for $10 off facebook and he loves to run all over with it and run into stuff.

There was a night out bowling that was organized with a few couples from work. It was John and I, Juan and Kerry, Lars and Erica, and Adam and Amanda. It was a lot of fun and hopefully we'll plan some more 'dates' in the future.

One of our many trips to Target. JJ always tries to turn around in a normal shopping cart so I grabbed this one that he could face forward. John hated pushing it.

Yep, he got out of our dog door too. It's one of his daily things to try and escape out the door.

Family dinner at Lolo's. He was actually a pill most of this meal until the end.

Flora and I showed up to work one day looking like twins with our colored pants and black tops. We had to get a picture. We found out this week that our team is being broken up and I'm pretty sad about that. I don't think I've had a team I've enjoyed this much since when I first started at my job.

Ahhh, my diet continues. I only call it a diet to convey the fact that I'm trying to eat healthier and lose weight. However, in pretty much every other way I am eating normal food that I would eat whenever. It's more about portion. Tracking calories, trying to eat smarter, and running. Just this week I hit my first goal to get to pre-pregnancy weight. Now I'm onto my next goal!

Bug in his walker eating a napkin. Oh well.

This was his 10 month picture. I didn't get a very good smile from him but I think he looks so cute.

We stopped for lunch one Saturday at Cheddars. We happened to get seated by two other tables with kids about his age in high chairs. He was putting the moves on.

One Sunday after dinner we celebrated National Ice Cream day with some fro-yo. JJ wasn't a huge fan. He made a face like this with every bite but he kept taking more bites. That was better than a week or two later at Frost when he spit it out.

I've never seen a lot of me in JJ. I see a ton of John. I guess he does have my eye color and I see it in this picture.

We took JJ to the aquarium with Nick, Shar, Cailee, and Ashton. He was pretty interested in it the first few tanks and then I think it's all the same to him. Either way he was still good for us and it was fun to go out and do something since it's so hot outside right now.

Not going to lie I didn't even notice the shark behind us until right now. He was getting tired but I just wanted to love on him.

My standing boy. I keep telling him not to break my pretty and that is my picture of my baby. Can't believe how much he's changed.

This was last Sunday at dinner. They put in a new little seating area with artificial turf so we let Bug check it out.

That sums up the month. A whole lot of nothing exciting! August will be a big month with a trip to Idaho coming up!
