What?

There's been a whole lot of nothing going on lately. We had hockey pretty late into the season. Unfortunately, we couldn't beat the Kings. I think if we had we would have had a cup to celebrate!! It was a great season and I think we got to at least 1 game every series.

This was about the first week of May. I remember several of us on the team at work made an appointment to go donate blood at the same time. It was the funniest time ever. I think the girls taking our blood had the best hour of their day while we were there. I always get nervous doing this because it sucks so bad when you get sick but I made it just fine!

Lemon bars are my new favorite treat to make. It's super handy to have a lemon tree in the back yard, but I am out of lemons for the time being. Everyone at work seems to enjoy it as well. I just need to find a better way of grating the lemon....

Now for the controversial portion of this post. Chris Mann. He was on the voice and was my favorite throughout the competition. He didn't win, but I am obsessed with his music, and he's not bad to look at ;-)

This is the license plate cover that I want. Some people will know why...

I feel like this picture sums up my life right now. We have been getting up really early (4:30 am) and hitting the gym for about 45 min. Then we hurry home to get ready and get to work by 7 am. The workout seems to make it so I have more energy at work but by the end of the day I am exhausted! Still fighting the shin splints as well. But I think the overall workout has helped my running time. I'm averaging a 13 min mile now instead of 15. Dawn also conned me into starting another class right away. So now I'm in my second to last class; social psychology.

We were able to get in a breakfast and bike ride in May. We went to Crackers, which we love. We decided to ride a few miles to Starbucks and then were headed back. Unfortunately, we had just left Starbucks and watched a dog get hit by a car. We of course stopped to help which resulted in Bart riding to the vet with this lady and her poor dog and us trying to get all the bikes a few miles back to the cars, loaded, and go pick him up. Definitely not the way we wanted to end our ride.
I remember Mother's Day we were at hockey. Memorial Day we didn't do anything. Father's Day nothing either. About 2 weeks ago John and I went to Million Dollar Quartet. That was good. I liked the music but it wasn't our favorite. We spend most nights with me doing homework and maybe sitting in the hot tub. That whole project.... well we got the cement for the tub poured and the tub here and that's about where it ends....

I did plan a surprise dinner for John not that long ago. We went to Donovan's up by the Biltmore. I really like that area and that is going to be our new hangout. It was a lot of fun and EXPENSIVE, but worth it.

John's been working on the Camaro because stuff has been broken. Hopefully it is fixed for now.

We've been working on not going out so much and rotating houses to hang out at. So we had a Mexican Fiesta at our house about a week ago. John made enchiladas and then we went for a bike ride. We rode to Dunkin Donuts and they were closed. Stupid. Then we went and made Nick walk to Sonic with us and had milkshakes.

This weekend the dog's had their grooming appointment at Stephanie and Bart's. We enjoy the time without the dogs. Stephanie warned me to bring my swimming suit and I didn't listen and I ended up in the pool in my clothes. It was pretty funny and a lot of fun. We decided this morning to get up early and go to Matt's Big Breakfast. It's been on Diner's, Drive-Ins, and Dives. It was yummy!

I think that is all the random musings for now and pretty much catches me up to date.

Finish it out

It was about this time that I threw my back out. I have to say I have never done that before and it was not fun. I spent some time trying to watch hockey flat on my back as well as taking a few breaks during the day at work to lie down also.

We kept with our annual tradition on 4/20 and went to Cheba Hut for lunch. Always a good time.

So I’d had my car less than a month and we were driving home and a truck in front of me kicked up a huge piece of tire that was on the road and it hit me. It knocked a piece of the bumper our and broke this bulb and some other crap. I was not happy.

So it was about this time that I started my next book series, 50 Shades of Grey. There’s so much I could say, but won’t. However, it could have something to do with a few of my Facebook posts.

Also, hockey was still going on. Love hockey in April and May and hopefully June!

I upgraded our seats.

I was also back in class. Worst class of my program so far. Physiological psychology is like reading stereo instructions.

Busy April

Ok, so on April 12th we went to hockey. This was against the Chicago Blackhawks.

So happy to see the Coyotes in the playoffs again. I get mad love for my Pyatt whiteout jersey J

About a week later John had to go to Texas for a work thing. Stephanie and I took advantage of that and spent the evening getting massages, going to dinner, and then to the Hunger Games. Another great series of books that I read and loved.

I remember when we came out of the movies it was nasty and windy! Made for an interesting first night alone for me. But I according to my Facebook I ate all the marshmallows out of a box of Lucky Charms before I went to sleep.

The next day, John missed out on the Cruiser Crawl. Thankfully, I have Stephanie and Bart to be stand-ins and take care of me.

It was cold. We started at the usual, Casey Moore’s (love that place). Then we went to the Tavern on Mill. Then on our way to Baer’s Den we made a quick stop for Stephanie and I to buy sweaters.

We stopped one other place, but I can’t remember the name and then back to Casey Moore’s.

Cute

I don’t remember when this video was taken, but occasionally the kids come down to visit the dogs.

Some April

I already posted pictures from the spring training game, but that actually happened the end of March. That is also when we got the new car and went to BLD. I think we were a little surprised by BLD. It was “fancier” than we thought it would be. We liked the atmosphere but I don’t know that we were much more impressed with it than that.

Bart’s birthday is in April. I know right before his birthday we went to the Tempe Art’s Festival. It was HOT!! Then we had dog grooming at Stephanie’s and we turned that into Bart’s little birthday party.

We somewhat last minute decided to go to Kartchner Caverns. We had to get there before they shut down the big room tour for the bat season or whatever. What we learned is that Kartchner Caverns is totally awesome and we don’t do car trips well.

There are no pictures from Kartchner because they won’t let you take anything into the caves. It is crazy. You go through like 3 different areas and you get sprayed down to keep dander and hair and stuff off the walls of the caves. We want to go back for the other tour at some time.

I also already posted pictures of Easter, but we went to Maricopa and John’s mom’s house. Stephanie and Bart were there and Nick, Shar, and the kids. We took our bikes out and went for a quick ride first. This is also where Stephanie and Bart were introduced to Mexican train. They have since been in intensive training to master this game.

Still March

It looks like pretty soon after I was in Idaho Shar and I went to Wicked at Gammage. I love Wicked it’s one of my favorite plays. I had a whole rash of plays in the last two months. John and I went to Rain about a month ago. That was different… but good all the same. Then Stephanie and I went to La Cage Aux Folles. I didn’t know what to expect but it was funny and we both liked it. Now this coming Friday is the lasat one of the season, Million Dollar Quartet. John is going with me and I think we’ll like it!

Stephanie and I went painting again. This was about mid-March.

We had a cool spell about this time because there was one day that it rained and rained and then it hailed. That was different!

It was about this same time that my cousin Andrew ended up in town. He came over and hung out for a little bit. It was good to see him.

One night Nick and John were doing some random errand and I was watching the kids. They played outside for a little bit and then inside. Cailee liked playing in my shoes.

John’s aunt and uncle were here about this time too. We went to a bunch of different festivals that were going on. We were wasting some time in a Sam’s Club in N. Phoenix and Martina McBride was there filming some promotion thing. It was random. We went to a new restaurant, Postino’s. It was good. They have a salted carmel sundae with corn nuts!

To top off March we got a Groupon to go see Kevin James. So off we went with Stephanie and Bart to that one night. I have to say that it was so much fun.

Random

At some point we took the kids to a free trapeze show. They have a school near us and I work with someone who takes classes. It was pretty fun, but cold.... and we were HUNGRY!

After 3 weeks in the shop I finally got my car back and as I was driving it home it started smoking. Now the brakes were bad! So… we got rid of it. It was time. The miles were high and stuff was starting to break.

Home

The very first part of March I went home. This trip was planned before the impromptu trip in January.
It was cold, it snowed, and it was fun. I spent most of the first day helping Grandma Connie make tamales. I don't know that I could do it, but I have a better idea of what it entails....
We also went to the movies and got pedicures before heading back to Grandma's to eat the tamales!
I spent one morning alone working on homework and reading. I got really into the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo while I was there and I ended up loving that series. Dad took me to lunch and then over to Aberdeen where I hung out with Grandma and Grandpa for a while. That was fun. Grandma kept trying to feed Grandpa food he didn't want just so she could get rid of it. Poor Grandpa. I found out that Grandma fed Chris rancid peanut butter. That night I went to Bingo with Kim and Beanie. We had a good time but didn't win. Saturday we went to the ISU women's basketball game and then to dinner and Lava.

That was about it for the trip home!
