December

So far December has flown by and I think we've been pretty busy. Right after Thanksgiving I started a detox for 2 weeks. Basically it's no dairy, no carbs, lean meat only. It sucked!! I lost 4 lbs the first week and that was about all.

Anyways, I finished up my wreath, and I love it.
I want to put this on here; it's the site where I got some of my ideas for the wreath and the bow too.

Oh yes, I didn't really mention Thanksgiving. It was low key; we went to Maricopa. It was just John and I and his parents.
The I-10 on the way to Maricopa
So we ended up eating and then going clear out to Queen Creek to look at a truck. Friday we went to East California to look at another. Saturday we went to look at 2 or 3. Then Sunday we went again. In the meantime I decided to butcher the plants in our yard. I did get this picture while driving all over the place looking at trucks.

Now one weekend, I can't remember which, Stephanie and I spent some quality time at Sephora. I had been wanting some bronzer for a while. They had a good deal, etc. Anyways, I think this is about how it went the first day:
I also went and got my hair done. I had wanted a change and honestly what I really wanted we didn't do. But I got my ombre and I like it!
Then the end of the month resulted in this little treat!
Bart's month of hell was over. He shaved into this mustache for a day and then it was gone!

Let's see.... The first weekend we went to the Tempe Arts Festival. It was really nice out. I don't remember if it was last year that was so cold, but I know that it was nice to not freeze!

The second weekend was Kirk's party! As always, the food was delicious, the company great, and we had a great time. I really liked the added perks of the smores and the gift exchange. Next year we've discussed a pajama party. That should be fun!

Movember?

So somewhere around this time John sold the Camaro. This started a search for a pickup. We had an appointment to get the dogs groomed and then planned to do crafts at Stephanie and Bart's.

Bart was participating in a Movember challenge that resulted in this:
So we took the dogs to get groomed on the 18th and then ran to look at a truck (the first of several). Then we went to the house for some food and crafts.

That's as far as I got on mine that day. Stay tuned on for the finished product.

Side note:
I got this the other day. It's at work on my desk because disco balls are awesome!!

The end of an era

So Thursday November 15th was one of the best days ever. It was the day of the final Twilight movie. We knew we were absolutely doing the marathon again. However, we made the decision to go to a new theater. We went to Ipic up on Scottsdale. It was FANTASTIC. We had assigned seats so there was no line to wait in. It was Stephanie, Shar, and I but we weren't all sitting together. As you can see from the picture below they were like big armchairs. It was reclining, there was a blanket and pillow, and you can see the tray to put your stuff on. We had a waiter who would bring us drinks and food. It was just the best.

All decked out in our custom Twilight sweaters
There was a small hangup where we had to move to a different theater for the last movie but overall it was the best 10 hours ever. The last movie was good. Not my favorite, but it also isn't my favorite book. It was definitely bitter sweet. Stephanie and I went back to see it again at the Cine Capri the next day also.

Continuing On

Let me digress for a moment. John's parents got here just before Halloween. We went out to their house for dinner on Halloween. Beats handing out candy! The next thing on my list is a work picnic. It kind of sucked because we normally get a half day and this was broken up into shifts and was for 2 hours, but it was still nice outside and a good time.

Playing a little cornhole

Hanging out
I believe it was the weekend after this that John's aunt and uncle were here and friends and his cousins, etc. We went to dinner with everyone at a restaurant out south of Maricopa. That will only mean something to people from here, but on the way out there I literally thought we were going to be murdered.

Then just for fun

November!

So that takes care of October! The first weekend of November Dani and I finally went skydiving. We had planned it for August, September, and then November. I wasn't sure if I would be more scared or what going for the second time, but nope; not at all. It was still a blast, but unless we're going to up the scary quotient I'm probably ok with not going again; unless someone pays for me.

There was no wind and so we "came in hot". So it was a slide landing.

Time to finish this

Ok, it's time to finish this trip to Idaho off because I have a lot to do after it. The flight was pretty early Monday so we basically got up and headed to Idaho Falls. Since I didn't check any bags I walked straight to security. I was waiting for my stuff so I could get my shoes on when an old lady took a nosedive down the escalator. It was like slow motion while one lady tried to hold her from falling down even further and others were trying not to step on her I was sitting there thinking hit the stop button!!

The security all ran over there and stopped it, etc. So I continued on. We get loaded onto our plane and were looking to make an on time departure. I was seated next to....

She was hilarious. She was rocking this fedora. She curled up on the chair. I had to help her do up her seatbelt, etc. The best part was that she was commenting on people, their clothes, their books, etc.

Well, unfortunately, the lady who nosedived was on our flight. The flight attendants saw her and said no go. So they called the ambulance. We got to wait for them and they all came on board, etc.

It made for an interesting flight home. However, I did have a small present waiting for me at home.

Sunday?

So obviously, the next day was Sunday but I cannot remember what we did. The only pictures I have are from carving pumpkins...

I know Chris and I went to Buffalo Wild Wings and watched the end of the World Series...

Saturday

So Saturday, my mom had a craft thing most of the day. I spent the morning with my dad and we went to Grandma Connie's. I know we spent quite a bit of time looking at all the pictures on her digital frame.

That afternoon I went to John's mom's house. She was cooking dinner and having people over since they were getting ready to head to AZ. It's the first time I'd seen some of the family in quite a while. Beanie came up there too so we could visit. I love her and was so glad to see her.

John's mom, Teri, and Lana

Kim and Tracy

Nathan

Nathan and Koda

Kim and Brit
It was nice to be able to see everyone and visit. I was glad to see Nathan and Tracy. I think those are the two that it's been the longest... and Teri's family.

That night when I went home my mom had made scones for dinner. This was at my request as it's something we used to have all the time for dinner. I'm sure it's totally healthy covered in butter and honey. However, when I got there I found Jaden and AshLynn like this

I guess food coloring and bread dough make great fun.

I remember I also caved into AshLynn's request about spook alley's. I hate them. I refuse to go to them but I went. My mom, Chris, AshLynn, and I all went out Saturday night. The first one we went to was the best. It was out in Fort Hall and was pretty good. I spent most of it with my head in my mom's hood pushing her forward. Then we went to some haunted zoo or something and it was pretty bad.

That about finished out Saturday of my trip home!

Finish out October

Ok, so I left the last post as we were in Idaho Falls getting ready to go to the Chris Mann concert. We went over to the Civic auditorium after dinner and there was confusion about the concert time so we just hung out there. It had also started to snow so we didn't want to be out. So while we're hanging out there we could hear him warming up and I knew then that it was going to be awesome. It was a breast cancer benefit. It was also his first time performing with a live orchestra. I thought it was great. He sang a lot of his songs, most of his new album, and a few covers.

Ok, so it's supposed to be a video but won't upload. I'll try and fix it later.
Here is a small snippet of him performing a Sting song. Seriously, it was amazing.
Most of my pictures didn't turn out because he was too flushed out

This dude was called Pinkerbell the Breast Cancer Fairy. Weird.

This was when his amazing voice killed the spotlight. LOL.

This concert was so worth the entire trip and money and everything.

Splash dash, Chris Mann, and More!

Sometime in October we did the neon splash dash. We is John, Stephanie, Bart, Nick, and I. The race was started at like 7 or so and we were pretty well decked out for it.

My socks for the run

Nick after the run

It was a 5k run. It wasn't the best thing ever.... The stuff they threw on us made you feel really slimy. There weren't alot of black lights around the track so you couldn't even tell you were glowing and there were some parts of the track you couldn't even see where you were going. Afterwards we went to The Habit for some food!

One Sunday evening John and I went and watched a few of the guys I work with play softball. It was such a nice night out and we had a good time.

On the 26th I flew home. I was so excited about the concert.

Flying into Idaho Falls

Enough said
The concert was that night but mom and I decided to go shopping and get our makeup done.

This is what I was supposed to look like

This is what I did
Then we headed to Idaho Falls so we could get dinner first.

On the way to IF
We went to the Snake Bite. It was pretty good and something different. I'm going to do the next bit in a different post so it's not such a big file.
Not my food, but probably close to what I had
