October so far...

October really started where September left off. We had our garage sale. It went really well. Then we found out the community was having one two weeks later, so whatever we didn't sell we just hauled in and then hauled it back out two weeks later.

On October 1st tickets for the last Twilight movie went on sale. So excited for this!!
That's right, we're doing it in style this year. We are going to one of the theaters in Scottsdale for the whole marathon. There are assigned seats, recliners, pillows, blankets, waiters.... it's going to be the best day ever. November 15th can't come soon enough!!

I also had to take Joey to the vet. I think this is a conspiracy. I have to pay the county for his license. But I can't get the license without the rabies. So I have to take him to the vet, which of course costs me a bunch of money. And THEN the vet decides to tell me that Joey is developing a heart murmur. Definitely not what I wanted to hear.

Nick's birthday was the 3rd. I found out Shar had to work, so John and I took Nick and the kids to Frost to celebrate. Frost is amazing and acceptable at any time day or night.

**CORRECTION** Stephanie was at Frost also. We couldn't have Frost without her.

That first weekend we did Tour de Fat. It's a bike ride in Tempe. It's only like 3 miles and everyone dresses up and it's just crazy fun.

I love that it's cooling down and more bike weather.

Also, I happened to be cruising Twitter on night and saw something exciting. That one little tweet has resulted in this:
You have no idea how excited I am about it! Ever since I saw Chris Mann on The Voice I wanted to see him in person. So to find out he was going to be in Idaho Falls, when I have not heard of him coming to Phoenix I knew I needed to go. So that is where I will be next weekend!!!

Last, before I finish for a while. We had a fun little weekend excursion up to Nordstroms in Scottsdale. We decided since we were up there we should go to Lolo's because it's delicious. I think we may have overdone it a little.

No wonder we're so tired!!

End of September

There were a few more events in September that really finished out the month. Most notable is probably that I finished school. I think that was on the 24th. Even slacking in the last class I got an A- and finished the program with a 3.95 GPA. The guys at work seemed to think that since I was done with school that meant I should become their personal chef. It was nice to come into work and have a little recognition.

Also at this time I inherited a new nickname. :-)
This picture is awesome. Not only because of my name tag but of all the stuff you can see in the background. I have my fantastic giant microphone/pencil case. My low sodium peanut butter and honey, the source of many, many lunches. My breakfast of champions, a banana. My stack of cups. Those are all used. I like to stack them for some reason. The picture of the family from skydiving. In general it's just awesome.

So at this time we were getting ready for our first garage sale. I was afraid we wouldn't have anything to sell, then I was afraid we wouldn't have anywhere to put it all!! We sold this:

John's work also did an employee weekend. We stayed at one of the resort's. They have a water park that everyone hung out at and then we did a big dinner at Aunt Chilada's. It was actually a lot of fun and nice to get to know them better.

Hot Cheetos & Takis [HD]

This is a video that has inspired a few of things we've done, said, eaten..... It started at work and there's no other way to put it. It will change your life.

September

It's getting a little late and I'm not sure I even want to start this post..... but here goes. September.

Well of course the first weekend is a holiday. We didn't do anything. I think that was the weekend we drove to Payson. It was pretty. Then the town was boring. Really boring. One night that weekend we went to Hillstone finally. It was so yummy!!

At one point during the month John went to the Dr. They sent him for an MRI and then to a neurologist. I went with him to the neurologist. I was disappointed that the Dr. didn't look like Patrick Dempsey. Basically the diagnosis was carpel tunnel. He's got a brace now and he hasn't said much about it since.

At this same time, my car was back in the shop. They gave us a rental. I think we had to get boat insurance for it. It was a Crown Victoria and it was HUGE! I felt pretty stupid driving that around for a few days. The funniest thing was that they said they fixed the car and within a day the problem was back.

Mid month our groomer opened a salon. We took the dogs there one day. It is right by my old branch! We did a little shopping and ate lunch while the dogs were getting cleaned. I really like the groomer, but I REALLY like the convenience of having them come to the house so we'll see.....

My mom came for a long weekend. It was busy. I was also at the eye doctors that day. They made me mad and dealing with insurance always sucks. We also went to dinner with Joe and Heidi. It's the first time we'd seen them since the 4th of July. We went to the Keg and then wandered around San Tan and it was fun to catch up with them. That Saturday we did some couch shopping with Stephanie and Bart!
That night we went to San Tan Flats with my mom and Nick's family. The weather was pretty nice for it.
On Sunday we went to Cracker's, Ikea, and Costco. I only like one of those three and barely tolerate the other two.

About that last post....

If you go back on my blog I wrote about losing a post. I think that last post may be it... minus the pictures. :-D

It's February already?

In an effort to try and not get so far behind I'll try and remember what has happened so far this year. Of course, January 3rd was my birthday. It was my 30th and I'm afraid I've hit the point where they're not really special anymore. I will have a few pictures to post.

I had decided I wanted to do something NICE. I put together a nice dinner at a fancy restaurant. Stephanie did a great job of stepping it up and having her and I go get our hair and makeup done. It was a lot of fun and I liked the outcome. After dinner we decided to go back to Stephanie's house and just hang out. Lot's of ideas were thrown out but we mostly just hung out; apparently burning the Christmas tree in the pool like a beacon of light isn't a good idea....

My mom came shortly after that. I remember the night she came I was at South Pacific with Lisa. It was good and the music gets stuck in my head still! Didn't do much the week mom was here and dad came on Thursday. Ashton's baptism was that Saturday and Nick and Shar talked in church Sunday.

Oh yes, grandpa had his open heart surgery on my birthday which seems to have occupied much of the month. From mom's reports it was pretty bad at some points. Then just when we got him home he went right back. I have tickets to come home in March but decided I wanted to go and Delta had a sale to go that weekend. So on the 28th we went to the color run (amazingly fun, pictures to follow) and then Nick and I hopped on a plane, rented a car, and crashed the party. No one except Chad knew we were coming and it was fun. We got to see grandpa, Chad, Corrine, Mark, Annette, Russell, Chris, Jaden, AshLynn, Grandma Connie, Grandpa Len, Grandma, Mom, and Dad... I think that's it. Nope, it's not..we got to see Dwight and Misty, Morgan and Taylor too. That was Sunday when we made Grandma make us cheese waffles. Best thing ever!!

I'm glad that grandpa is doing better and gaining strength. I'm looking forward to seeing him in a few weeks when I go home again.

Since coming back from Idaho John and I also had our 10 year anniversary. I can't believe it's been 10 years. Hate to say, we didn't do a whole lot as it fell on a Thursday. It was the day we were eligible to upgrade our cell phones and we were more than happy to toss our Droids and go get iPhones.

Last Saturday Stephanie and I put part of her Christmas present to use and did a painting class. It was a lot of fun and we can't wait to do the next one!!

Tonight was a meeting of the BADC and it was at our house this time. I made lasagna and garlic bread. I think it turned out well!

August?

I already posted part of what we did in August with our trip to Greer, but there were a few more random things.

There are only two things I can really remember and I'm not sure which occurred first.

One weekend we met Bart, Stephanie, Maureen, and her son for As You Wish. We ended up going downtown to the Diamondback game. But we didn't get there till the game was already over. But we were really there for the concert (or so I'm told). It was Roger Cline and the Peacemakers or something like that. It may have been Roger Clyne and the Pacemakers.... I'm not sure.
All I know is that we had more fun riding around in the car than anything else.
This is the platter I painted. :-)

The other August event was I was at the Dr's. Now that certainly isn't new, but I was in the bathroom and something moved and scared the crap out of me. I got to look a little closer and it was this little guy.

Hmmm

So according to my last post I thought I was going to be really busy. I feel like we have been but not with anything SUPER exciting. But I've gone back through everything to try and get an idea of what all has been going on.

So I don't remember for sure when I did this, but I burned my hand pretty bad. I was frying fish for dinner one night and splattered grease on my hand. It was gross and it hurt.
I also have been getting some pretty awesome pictures from my mom. Pictures from when I was little. They're pretty funny.
These are some of the more random photos that I've taken recently. One of the things I love about this time of year besides that it is starting to cool down is that instead of it being light at 4 am, the sun comes up right after we get home from the gym. One morning I saw this out my back door and had to go outside and get a picture.
This last picture was again after the gym one morning. I would much rather play with Edward than get ready for work.
