June

June was a pretty busy month and now we're more than 1/2 through July so I'm going to try and remember everything that happened. I finished the wreath that my mom left me with. It was just a thorn in my side until I could get it done.

I have this picture of a painting that JJ did at daycare. I don't remember if this is the first one or what. I know whenever it was that he did the first one I picked him up and Laura gave me the painting and said how excited he was that he'd shown interest in doing the painting and how proud of him she was.

There were a few of these mornings. My guess is this is after a run. Because I have to go first thing in the morning if I'm going to go and JJ is still in his jammies so my guess is I got up and put him in the stroller and went and when I get home and am trying to breath he will get out and run around outside for a bit.

We got the office pretty much situated. I love the cubes. I was really happy to get it all organized. Of course, that pretty much all got messed up when I decided to do LuLaRoe because now I have a bunch of different stuff to stick in and move around.

Ahh..... the paint saga continues. Actually we were finally able to paint one of the colors we decided when my parents were here. You can see the contrast here sort of. I don't know yet if I love it. I still see a lot of the blue in it, but I am tired of painting. I think if we had painted this color first I would love it, but I can't unsee the blue.

Nick invited us to the Power Ranch pool one day. JJ wasn't sure at first but he warmed up to it by the end.

We've spent a lot of time out in JJ's pool. He likes to blow bubbles and splash and he's getting brave enough to roll on his tummy and kick.

So....this is John's 'carwash'. I don't even know when he made it just that one night he came and told me to come look at it. He made it for JJ to run through, but JJ isn't too sure about it.

We've started our scorpion hunting too! We haven't found as many as last year, but they're still there for sure!

Another daycare bring home for JJ. I thought this was just funny what it says. He obviously isn't really into coloring yet.

But he did try peanut butter finally! As hard as it is to get him to try stuff sometimes and then he loves it. He pretty well cleaned this jar out. We liked it. It kept him entertained while we ate.

I was overdue for a haircut. I also wanted a change. My hair always seems so heavy and when I run it's like it never dries out. So we went for a shoulder length and I love it. So much easier. We cut about 6-7 inches off.

I went with Shar one night to the Relief Society speed friendship thing. The ward just got realigned again so it was a lot of people getting to know each other and they had SO MUCH food. This was a picture of like my 3rd plate.

So I am not really sure how it came about but I asked John if he wanted to go to San Diego and he said yes. So I booked us a hotel and we headed there on Father's day weekend. I'm glad I remembered that I had ordered tickets for Newsies because it was the same weekend. I called ASU to try and reschedule and they weren't able to accomodate us so they refunded my money! I love Newsies but we saw it last year.

We hadn't done a long road trip with JJ or hotel stay or anything so we were sort of nervous about it. He did really great through. He fell asleep the way there about 830pm. He did wake up when we got to our hotel on Coronado at midnight which in some ways helped but he wasn't sure about the whole strange room thing and was up till about 2am.

We got up the next morning and had breakfast at the hotel. It was free and it was pretty decent for free! We walked down to the water and then decided to come back and head to the beach. JJ really wasn't sure about any of it at first. He wanted to like the water until he felt it. It's really cold for this Arizona boy. Then he was ok with it until the waves got bigger and then he was done with that. John tried to lure him in but he just ran the other way. He likes the sand but he doesn't like anything on his hands. So that is a predicament. He had a good time though and so did I. I love the beach and the ocean. He got tired and cranky though so we headed back to the room.

He fell right asleep when we left the beach and woke right up when we got to the room (about 5 minutes) and he would not go back to sleep. If I'd known that was going to happen I would have just stayed at the beach and tried to get him to sleep there for a little while.

We finally decided to go for a walk and I don't know what... get some food or try and get him to fall asleep? Either way we didn't do any of those. We did find a band concert that we stopped to listen to.

We went back to the hotel and decided to go to the pool. I don't have any pictures but JJ loved it. He had a good time swimming with mom and dad. After a quick bath we headed to dinner. We'd decided to go to this pizza place. I was glad we got seated right away and it was in the corner and quick service. And we found their butter noodles that JJ loved.

After dinner we walked along the water and let JJ run around and play a little.

We came back and after about 30-40 minutes of him climbing all over me he fell asleep. We wished we had a room with a balcony because it was such a gorgeous night but we couldn't leave him to go sit out and enjoy it.

We decided the next morning after breakfast to try and find a park for JJ before heading back to let him run around and tire him out. It was a gorgeous morning and the park wasn't too busy.

We headed home about 10 or so and he was out really quick. He slept the first 2 hours or so. We stopped in Yuma for some lunch. It was about 120 degrees. It was so so hot.

After another hour or so in the car JJ got a little restless. That's when we pulled out the dvd player. He did pretty good the rest the way home. Maybe the last 30 minutes he was totally over it, but for our first trip I was totally happy with how he did.

I came back to work and had to present to all the people who report to my director. I got to wear my new LuLaRoe Randy and I got a lot of compliments on it. I won't say being in front of 70 people is my favorite but I think I did better than a few of the other people on the committee who also presented.

Just a picture of JJ transacting some business on my laptop. LOL.

I had been craving some ceviche from High Tide and Nick and Shar decided to go. We weren't able to because it takes a little longer than JJ will sit for but I convinced them to bring me some. So delicious.

I also made a cajun chicken pasta from my skinnytaste book and I loved it. I've been slacking lately on my food tracking and food prep so I need to get back on track.

Another run picture.

Last picture I have of the month is when we took JJ to downtown Gilbert to play in the water. He still isn't interested in the fountains but he loves the giant water ball.

I guess that wraps up June. Nothing super exciting. San Diego was great. I can't wait to go back. I was still waiting to be onboarded with LuLaRoe and trying to get all my stuff ready. Shipping supplies, clothes rack, hangers, etc. I freak out about it at least once a day. The money commitment, the time commitment, etc. Will I be 'successful'? I thought at first since pretty much everyone I talked to hadn't heard of LLR I had this great untapped customer base, but I think I've now decided that just makes it harder. People don't know what it is to want to share it with other people or try it, etc. So I get pretty anxious about it all. But I keep asking for guidance and am reassured that the investment is pretty much fail safe one way or another so .... more to come.
